Our Blog

This blog spot is primarily a photo/memory album for our family. It also serves as a way for us to share what is going on in our lives with our friends and family that don't see us on a regular basis. Ashley, Worth, Ellie, Emma, and Mack

Basketball has begun!

This weekend was the official kick off to basketball season. Mack and Emma are playing this year. Ellie opted out of playing basketball saying that she now prefers volleyball over all the other sports.
Emma had a great game Saturday. Mack's team played today (Sunday) and well, let's just say that this year will definitely be a "growing" year for his team. I felt so bad for them, that my heart hurt. They played so incredibly hard, but they have only had 2 practices and it showed. They had NO idea what they were doing. Hopefully, they can learn and grow through the season and there won't be anymore shut out games. They lost 40-0 and the game was stopped after the 3rd quarter because they were losing so bad. :(  Mack was slightly bummed, but he was more excited that he "was the fastest" out of all the players on the court. He was pretty fast, but it wasn't quite fast enough to score any points this go round. Mack seems to love playing though, and his age group is so fun to watch.

While Emma had her game Saturday, Ellie attended her first sewing class at a sewing store in Hahira. She LOVED it. (Imagine that!) She made a tissue holder, a coaster, and a pillowcase, and she can't wait to go back next month for another class. She enjoyed it so much that she came home and sewed a 2nd pillowcase on her sewing machine. Her creative cup was filled for the day for sure!

Emma's team is Westside Crimson. In this game, they were playing the other Westside team "Silver"

It cracks me up how she bounces across the court.

Big win for Westside Crimson
Ellie was sewing away while we watch Emma play basketball.

She was so proud of her pillowcase.

And her other 2 handmaid items.

Mack was ready to play today!
Mack wasn't afraid to get in there with the bigger kid.

He was fast on defense.

I was proud he knew how to dribble all the way across the court.

I was worried he couldn't make a basket on the 8 foot goals. He made several, but unfortunately they were all during warm ups.

New Year, New Decade!

We rang in the new year at home. Worth made a "fancy" dinner of steak, lobster, salad, 3 cheese mac and cheese, and garlic bread. The meal was completed with a glass of cold champagne for the adults and sparkling grape juice for the kiddos. We ate in our PJs, and Worth, Mack, and I were in bed by 10:00pm. Ellie and Emma stayed up and watched the ball drop for the first time ever and were enamored by it. I have only taken 1 picture this week and this was it:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
