Our Blog

This blog spot is primarily a photo/memory album for our family. It also serves as a way for us to share what is going on in our lives with our friends and family that don't see us on a regular basis. Ashley, Worth, Ellie, Emma, and Mack

June 2020 Highlight Reel

Well, the pandemic is STILL going on, but we didn't let it keep us from our annual beach trip to Fort Morgan this month. In addition to our annual June beach excitement, the girls started back dance at the studio, Leonard is growing and keeping up entertained, it's getting VERY hot in south GA and we've had some family visit that made us all happy. I'm looking forward to July, which we kick start by our other annual beach trip to St. Simons Island.

The girls were overdue for a haircut, and despite having to wear a mask the whole time - they did great. Ellie got a ton of hair chopped off. (This is the after picture and somehow I didn't get Emma's after picture)

The first weekend of June brought Amos, Anna, and sweet Hardy for a visit.
Mack and Hardy could interact better this visit, but Mack still had a hard time getting Hardy to follow the pretend play.  He nicknamed Hardy Michael at one point, and Hardy was thoroughly confused.
The boys also bathed together every night. Mack's first question to Hardy when they got in the bathtub the first night: "Hardy, do you poop in the tub?"
Saturday brought more cousins as Matthew, Jesica, Will, Walker, and Madeline came for to visit and have dinner. (Grandma and Papa also came to hang out!)

Hardy wasn't afraid to dig in the dirt in a wet bathing suit, then eat some pringles.

Emma showing off to the others.

Of course, Daddy had to throw everyone. Ellie is almost getting too big for this.

Emma's turn while Will watches not wanting to get involved.

Mack for the final throw almost to the other side of the pool.

Attempt at a Chancey cousin picture that Hardy was not happy about.
Our Fort Morgan beach trip couldn't get here fast enough this year.

Day 1 hitting the water is top priority.
Boogie boarding was really good this year. We had perfect weather and perfect water.

Mack was excited about the water, especially after we encountered 2 baby sharks swimming by.
All of the girls had the best time together this year. They all have iPods or phones now, so they had FaceTimed and sent group texts discussing their plans for the beach week. All of them were SO excited to see each other.

Crab Hunting night didn't disappoint.
They did catch some monster crabs this year. I'm convinced Levi was behind their success.

Emma got buried.

Hughes was suckered into throwing kids in the pool. Mack was first in line.
After dinner while the other kids played, Mack and the Shelton boys got their  (parents') iPads and watched Dude Perfect videos, Ninja Kids, Epic, and Mack even showed them some Xtra Math.
This is how most nights went for the adults. Drinks and chatting on the back porch watching the ocean and sunset. I can't imagine how hard these trips are for the Hughes, but they insist on returning with us every year so far. It is healing for all of us.

Katie made tanks for us this year. They were super cute!

I think Willow was napping during this photo shoot, but this was the best we could get of the crazy crew!
Mack, AKA grumpy old man.

Chillin in his seat.
If Mack wasn't digging or in the water, he was chillaxin in his chair like an old man. His time with his daily ice cream after the ice cream truck was his favorite.
The bull made it another year. This was a great shot of how clear the water was. You can even see poor Connor's crack where his suit wouldn't stay up.

Emma was literally attached to Willow the entire week. Nicole said she was a great help.

If Willow wasn't already rotten, she definitely was after this trip,.

"The boys"

Mack was sitting giving Emma instruction while she dug.
We had professional pictures taken this year. While we waited our turns, we were snapping pictures with our phones. Ross Simril got this and I LOVE it.

Worth snapped this one and I think it's a framer.

The guys and the reason we all come together every year.

The girls
A sneak peak at one of our professional shots.

The water balloon fight was a serious affair this year.
I think the dads enjoy it more than the kids.
Living room relaxing after a big dinner.
Aren't they cute?
Mack figured out that Mrs. Shelton pots her boys' hair in a mohawk almost every day. So, he asked her to hook him up.
He was SO proud!

This is day 2 of the mohawk, post sleep and a few hours of beach time.

We made it back home in time for Father's Day. Ellie was REALLY excited about her gift for her daddy.

Need I say more?
Although I took a terrible picture, Mack and Emma gave Worth Rock Em' Socks. They had pictures of all 3 kids heads on them and were hilarious.
Leonard was boarded while we were at the beach. I don't think these 3 missed him at all, do you?

Mack and Emma have been building epic Lego creations.

In other exciting news this month, Ellie decided to wrap Mack's "switchblade" comb around her hair.  It obviously resulted in me having to cut her newly "cut" hair to get it out. You can't make this stuff up.
When she wasn't having hair trouble, Ellie built Leonard a house complete with a skylight.
He seems to like it.

This is Mack every morning. Poor cat can't catch a break.
