Our Blog

This blog spot is primarily a photo/memory album for our family. It also serves as a way for us to share what is going on in our lives with our friends and family that don't see us on a regular basis. Ashley, Worth, Ellie, Emma, and Mack

Pre Alabama Beach Trip Time

We are usually so excited about our annual Fort Morgan, AL beach trip, that the end of May and the 1st week of June fly by with a blur. We have activities going on, but we are all completely consumed with getting ready for our first big beach trip of the summer with all of our friends from residency.

This year has been no exception. While mentally and physically preparing for the Alabama trip, we took a mini beach trip to SSI for Memorial Day weekend. When we returned, the kids had VBS at Christ Episcopal Church here in Valdosta. This was Mack's first year participating in a VBS program, and he had a blast!

Friday night dinner at Iguana's in the village.

Mack was impressed by their ice cream.

After dinner we headed down to the park area. There was a  huge playground, but my kids preferred this whale sculpture to play on.

Ellie fit into it's mouth and the girls thought this was hilarious.

Mack, on the other hand, wasn't a fan of being put in the whale mouth.

😂

Emma's turn

I told them they looked like Ariel and Ursula

Emma enjoying the view from the whale top

Ellie in super star pose mode, of course.

Saturday morning we hit the beach early. Emma was ready for some waves and dragged Mack along with her.

Ellie assumed her position out of the water and under the tent.

The human buoy was back in action

Ellie chose boiled peanuts and her kindle for entertainment.

Mack made it until around 2:40pm before he had his first big meltdown.

The Summers and the Howells came and hung out with us on the beach. I didn't get too many pictures of them, but I was so glad I caught this moment of Walker spitting game to Emma.

We went to a great restaurant Saturday night. Mack was so exhausted,. He never cuddles with Worth, but this is where he stayed that night if he wasn't standing in front of that fish tank behind Worth in the picture.

Day 2, human buoy assumes her position.

Lots of sand castle prep went on this day.

Ellie got bored and brave.

Mack chose the slow, low waves to ride

We buried Ellie

Mermaid Ellie

Emma wanted to be buried too...

then Mack

He was over it after a minute or two though.

Lounging before bedtime our last night. My children can "get comfortable" in the weirdest positions when a TV is on.

I apologize for these VBS pictures. I did the best I could getting shots of each child. Emma kept hiding behind another person and I wasn't sitting in a great spot to get good pictures. They sang some songs and did a great job though! They loved this VBS, it was much smaller than ours at PAUMC, and much more laid back. We couldn't do PAUMC's VBS because it is next week when we will be at the beach.

One of the few I could get of both girls together. Ellie top left, Emma dead center of picture.

Singing and dancing. Not all of the kids were very cooperative with the  performance.
