4 month checkup and other fun stuff

Some pictures from the last week. Ashley's parents, her brother, and his girlfriend are all in town for the weekend to help celebrate Ashley's birthday. I won't reveal which one it is (let's just say it is the 10th anniversary of when she could legally drink), but it is nice to have some family here to share in the occasion. Ellie went for her 4 month checkup and is hitting all the appropriate milestones. She is 11 lb and 13 oz. which puts her in the 10% for weight. She is in the 50% for her height. That is where she was at 2 months as well. Ellie's latest trick is that she likes to stand up. She doesn't have the balance yet, but she can stand on her own when leaned up against the ottoman as seen in the slideshow. Hopefully, I will have some more pics from the weekend to post later.

Rice Cereal

Ellie has started on rice cereal this week. She is doing pretty well with it although she hasn't figured out how to eat off a spoon as you can see by messy mouth.

Now that the holidays have passed we have gotten into a pretty good routine. Part of the nightly routine involves bath time. It starts with me taking Ellie back to the back and getting the bath ready.


The cats have gotten into the routine as well. For those of you who don't know, our fat cat Freddie only drinks out of a running faucet(spoiled). Well, now it appears that he is a good big brother and has taught little bit Shadow to do the same. Ellie just relaxes and watches the rediculousness.

Sorry it has been so long since my last post, but things have been busy with me on call a bunch the last couple of weeks, Ashley back at work, and Ellie heading to daycare. Ellie has adapted well to daycare and even started sleeping through the night a few times last week. With the good comes the bad as she has her first cold now. I took her to the pediatrician this morning and she is basically over her cold, but has the beginnings of an ear infection so the doctor started her on her antibiotics. She is doing pretty well otherwise and weighed in at 11 lb 3 oz. Posted below is some random pictures from the last week or so. I will try to do a better job of posting in the future.

1st Day of Daycare

Ellie had her 1st day of daycare today. Ashley did well getting her there all by herself as I was on call last night. When Ellie got dropped of she just smiled as if all was good with the world. She did well all day and only cried once when she got hungry. She was happy when she got home, but was worn out. She fell asleep in Ashley's lap after a long day.

Happy New Year and Go Dawgs

Happy New Year to everyone. We had a laid back day after sleeping thru the midnight hour. Jake and Tyson came over to watch the Dawgs with us and we are getting ready to eat our greens and black eyed peas to start the year off right.
