Our Blog

This blog spot is primarily a photo/memory album for our family. It also serves as a way for us to share what is going on in our lives with our friends and family that don't see us on a regular basis. Ashley, Worth, Ellie, Emma, and Mack

Christmas 2012

We've had a very busy past couple of weeks! I love the fun during the holidays! There are always church, family and friend activities to keep us in the spirit of the Christmas season. We missed a few events because of sickness at our house at the beginning of the month. This first group of pictures is from Ellie's Christmas pageant at school. Ellie's class were the sheep. They sang and then went to "sleep" on stage for the rest of the pageant.

The next event we attended was a dinner with Santa at the Valdosta Country Club. It actually turned out to be pretty comical. Worth and I signed up for it, and went dressed in dressy casual Christmas attire and had Ellie and Emma in their Christmas dresses. Little did we know it was a seafood buffet, open bar, cocktail party. There were women there in sequins and heels and men in suits (with their kids?!) Worth and I were terribly under-dressed and very embarrassed. Who knew that a night out with the kids and Santa would be such a social event for Valdosta! We ended up staying though because the girls were having a blast dancing to the band that was there and getting candy canes from Santa. Emma wasn't too impressed with this Santa either, but did give him a smile when he handed her candy.

Sister wrestling - yes, on the dance floor!

Next up, Mia and E.W.'s house for Christmas Eve. Kate and Jay were there with baby Bo, so there was a lot of baby holding and snuggling and new cousin love! Ellie became a pro gift passer outer and gift opener. Emma just kind of hung out - doing her thing:)

Emma found all the food in the stockings - pretty much the only gift she cared for

Baby Bo and Sa (Worth's grandmother)
We came back to Valdosta after a wild day in Tifton with the Bowers crew and left out milk and cookies for Santa and reindeer food in the front yard for the reindeer. Santa came! Ellie was so excited!

Emma liked the tootsie pop that Santa left her more than any toy she got

Posing in her Minnie slippers

Christmas Day, after we saw what Santa brought, wished Jesus a Happy Birthday and had a great breakfast, we headed back to Tifton to have Christmas with my parents.

The girls got matching dresses from Grandma

Emma loved the sit and spin that Grandma and Papa gave her

Grandma opening gifts and Papa with his post op hand - good thing he has a sweet daughter that is a hand therapist and could make him his splint:)

G and P gave Ellie a Tee ball set. Daddy was giving her some instruction

Disney Day 3 (Final Disney Post - I promise!)

These are probably some of the funniest pictures we got. At least, the funniest of Emma. As we all know she's not a fan of people, and even though she has gotten much better over the last six months, she was very unsure of all of the characters at Disney. Day 3 we went to Epcot because we had lunch reservations with the princesses there. Epcot was definitely not as much fun as Magic Kingdom. Maybe because I woke up that morning with the flu and every bone in my body hurt including the hairs coming out of my head (why did I think it was just a "cold"). Anyway, I felt AWFUL and it turned cold that day and I was absolutely freezing the whole time we were there. Our lunch reservations weren't until 2:50pm, so we had to kill time around Epcot until then. Ellie was not impressed with Epcot because she said there weren't enough rides. (I felt the same way!) We finally made it to our lunch reservations.  The meal was actually not bad, and the princesses came around to us at the tables so we could snap pictures and talk to them without waiting in line.

Looking at the aquarium at the Nemo ride

Mickey again!

I think Mickey's feeling were hurt when Emma immediately started screaming when she saw him

Giving Goofy a high 5

Goofy wanted to dance with Ellie

MINNIE!!!!!!!!

I think these drums were some of the most exciting things my children found at Epcot

Emma and Ellie bounced around on this floor for over 15 min - the squares were all different instruments

Meeting Belle at the princess lunch (she was right at the door when we walked in and had just finished taking pictures with a party of 15 people - I don't know how she still has a smile on her face! Props to the people that have this as a job!)

Discussing her Rapunzel crown

Emma's initial reaction to Cinderella

She's warming up

Ellie comments that this is not the same Cinderella that we saw yesterday. We told her it was, she just had her hair done differently!

Ariel goes straight in for Emma

Emma's not quite sure about her

Emma's face is priceless

Emma waving Good-bye to her. I'm sure she's really saying "leave me alone lady!"

Aurora from Sleeping Beauty

I just wish I could get inside Emma's brain sometimes:)

Snow White, another one who comes straight in for Emma

This was by far, the BEST Snow White I've ever encountered. She even had the voice down perfectly.

Ellie cheesin'

The princess parade of all the little girls there

Ellie following in the parade - it was really hard to get a shot because there were so many people in there. But she was beaming the entire time!
