Statesboro Visit and Father's Day 2013

I'm a week behind on my posts because I had a lot to post from last weekend. After VBS last Friday, the girls and I headed to Tifton so that I could drop them off with Grandma and Papa. After leaving them in Tifton, I drove to Statesboro to see one of my best friends, Lauren Massee. Lauren had her first child January 31st, and I'm such a sorry friend it has taken me until June to go visit and see baby Cater. One of my other best friends, Kathryn McPhail, who lives in Columbia, SC met up with us in Statesboro with her little girl Kaitlyn who is 2. I kind of felt bad for not taking my girls, but I REALLY enjoyed the quiet car ride to Statesboro and the night off! I spent Friday night in the Boro and then headed back to Tifton to relieve my parents from Ellie and Emma duty and to spend the night there and attend church with my dad on Sunday for Father's Day. Worth was on call all weekend, so he was ok with us being gone Father's day weekend.
Kaitlyn is such a sweet little girl! Love her!

I could eat those cheeks up!

Lauren in a serious discussion - couldn't get her to stop long enough to pose it up for the camera

Proud daddy Bob who was so precious with his little boy!

Lauren finally smiling but still in conversation:)

Cater is really rolling over now, they've had to bust him out of the swaddle

If any of you know Lauren's sister Whitney - this kid looks JUST like her!

Getting his diaper changed on the bed because he tried to roll off the pack and play changer!

When the girls and I made it home Sunday we made a quick trip to the grocery store and Worth had a few free minutes so he met us there so he could see his girls for Father's day. He was soon called out of the grocery store, however, and back to the hospital. The girls were thrilled, though, when he made it home for dinner and was able to open his Father's Day gift and cards from them.

Yes, Emma is just in a diaper - this is her new choice of wardrobe when she gets home. At least I can still convince her to keep the diaper on... for a little while!

VBS 2013

Last week was vacation bible school at our church. Friday the kids put on a singing/dancing performance for the parents that was too cute. I took a few pictures and couldn't quite get many of Ellie because she was standing behind so many other people. Ellie had a blast at VBS though (this was the first year she was old enough to attend).

We had a VERY busy weekend including a trip to Statesboro and Tifton. I'll post about these later as well as Father's Day so I don't picture overload too much!

The chaos that was all children filing in with their teachers. There were 210 kids that attended VBS at our church this year.
Ellie - a tiny peanut head in the crowd.
She spotted me - Posing, as usual
This is the most concerned group of preschoolers I think I have ever seen

Just the preschool group in the middle. There were kids covering the entire front of the church

Ellie is singing her heart out here

Playing air guitar in this picture. I'm loving her friend Anna Clark in this picture though - the red head on the right

Ellie's best buddy Bo, my friend Allison's son. He was not at all interested in the singing, dancing -he's too cool for that:)

Bo chillin' while everyone else is singing and dancing

The Dentist

Emma had her first dentist appointment yesterday. Ellie went first to show Emma the ropes. Ellie had lots to explain to Emma and kept informing the hygienist that this was Emma's first time at the dentist so "she doesn't know what to do!" She can be a loving big sister when she wants to:)  She really looked out for Emma, and Emma did great thanks to Ellie's coaching skills (wonder where she gets that from?:) No cavities for either girl! (the head phones in the pictures are for the TVs that are mounted in the ceilings for the kids to watch while they are getting their teeth cleaned. I love our pediatric dentist! )
