Our Blog

This blog spot is primarily a photo/memory album for our family. It also serves as a way for us to share what is going on in our lives with our friends and family that don't see us on a regular basis. Ashley, Worth, Ellie, Emma, and Mack

May Madness

It has been super crazy around here, at least the past 2 weeks have been! I'll let all the pictures speak for themselves. Included are recital, end of year pictures, preschool graduation, and Mack at 9 months (which was Wednesday the 21st. ) I'll have Mack's 9 month stats in a month - he doesn't see the doctor until mid June but he is doing awesome. He's crawling EVERYWHERE, standing for about 5 seconds, eating me out of house and home, and he laughs alot which makes all of us happy! He did get a tooth while we were at the beach (bottom left tooth) and it is finally all the way through. That was not fun! Get ready for picture overload!

I did crop this but I guess it didn't save. Excuse the ugly background.

I stole this from Worth's mom. The song was "Defying Gravity" and this was Ellie's favorite move the entire dance - the leap.

They didn't last long in the water. It was so cold that morning

We left the pool party early and headed to Emma's end of the year program.

They did a handbell version of Jesus Loves Me that brought tears to my eyes. It was so good! It amazed me that they had 30+ 4-5 year olds coordinating handbells so well

I had to put this one in here. It was too funny of Worth. Outtakes!

Emma's 3rd Birthday

I promised more pictures from Emma's 3 birthday parties (hopefully she won't expect 4 birthday parties when she's 4.) These pictures are from her class birthday party and the party we had here at our house right before we left for the beach. We had a small family party for her. I think this will be the last year we could get away with that. I'm sure next year we will have to get on the big party band wagon for Emma. Ellie has planned all of her parties 1 year in advance, so I'm sure Emma will do the same. She has already mentioned a few things she wants for "my party next year."

Emma at 3 is well, is fun, but not ALWAYS fun. I don't know who came up with terrible 2s, but from my child rearing experience so far, we have terrible 3s. I wouldn't say Emma is terrible, she is so sweet and does have good moments, but she certainly is not bothered with rules. If she doesn't want to do something there is no way to talk, convince, bribe, threaten her into doing it.  In fact, last night during dinner, I threatened a trip to the hospital to get a finger prick (more on this later) if she didn't eat her dinner. She continued to say no and then proceeded to go get her shoes on to "go to hospital" to have her finger pricked. She called my bluff. She has strong opinions about her clothing, hair and shoes, and these opinions change with the wind. Usually, at least once a day we have a lay on the floor and scream melt down because I have utterly offended her by doing something like making her wear a dress that doesn't have pockets.

She is incredibly smart but unbelieveably stubborn. Ellie was at least bribeable at this age. I've learned not to compare my children. They are 2 VERY different girls. Emma is growing so fast though and has blossomed so much over the last year. We've got a lot to look forward to with this little personality!

Her check up was last Monday. She was NOT happy about the finger prick to check her hemoglobin. (Hence the threatening for another finger prick.) She weighed 28lbs (25th percentile) and was 35.5in tall (10th percentile.)

Funny things Emma says at 3:
"Is it going to be hot or cold tonight?" - she asks this every night, no matter what, when picking out her PJ's.
"I'm hungy" - one that we now all say
"I can't"  and "I need help" - her 2 favorite things to say
"I love Mack"
What is your favorite color? - "red"
What is your favorite toy? - "Cinderella"
What do you like to do with Mommy and Daddy? - "Play in back yard"
What do you want to be when you grow up? "doctor"
What is your favorite t.v. show? "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse"
What do you like to do for fun? "Get my rainboots, get my raincoat, get my umbrella and go outside in the rain"
Who is your favorite sibling? "Connor" (her friend from preschool)
"3!"
