This blog spot is primarily a photo/memory album for our family. It also serves as a way for us to share what is going on in our lives with our friends and family that don't see us on a regular basis. Ashley, Worth, Ellie, Emma, and Mack
I'm pretty sure I've given other March posts this same name, but I was too lazy to go back and look. I apologize for the repetition. I have no brain cells anymore, and after all the sickness that has been passing through our house this month, I definitely have no functioning brain cells. Although flu tests have been negative, I'm pretty sure we've all had some version of it, and I'm 99% sure Emma came down with strep this weekend. She has been running a high fever and has an awful cough. I'm trying to hold out until tomorrow to go to the doctor though, because I just hate trying to go to the aftercare clinic. She is responding to advil and tylenol, but as of last night was so pitiful sick. Hopefully, we can get an antibiotic in tomorrow and she will feel better soon.
Lots of memories this month. Emma competed in her first glow run with Ellie and I, Worth and his dad made the shoot out of the Member Guest golf tournament at the Valdosta Country Club, we've attended about 7 birthday parties this month, gone to the Azalea festival, we had a great bunny hop at Park Avenue UMC, the girls were a part of "The Promise" at our church this year, and Westside Field Day beat us all down this past Friday. As always, many pictures to share!
Mack dressed up for Wacky Wednesday during Dr. Seuss week at school.
Emma attended a REAL tea party birthday party. They got to bring a doll and dress up. It was so cute. I loved that the mothers hosting the joint birthday party dressed for the occasion as well.
Having pink lemonade "tea"
Sweet girls, and lots of them! Emma had the best time.
What Emma would look like if she was an American Girl doll.
Mack attended a couple of birthday parties this month as well. This is his friend, Charlie (the little boy in glasses sitting by Mack.) Mack and Charlie are best buds and partners in crime.
Also, finished this month, was Emma's room. Please ignore the ugly bedspread in this picture. This was just a progress picture once the painting was done. When Emma is feeling better and her new room is clean, I will take more pictures to post. It turned out so cute and girly!
We all attended the Valdosta Azalea Festival as a family this year. The pony ride was first on the agenda for the kids.
I'm just thankful my kids didn't ask for a pony or horse riding lessons, etc. I have a bad history with ponies and horses. They are beautiful and intelligent animals, but I keep my distance.
3 Bowers kids on a bouncy slide
The sand mountain prepared them for the upcoming beach trips in a couple of months.
They insisted on the bungie(sp?) jump attraction. The weight minimum was 30lbs. Mack weighs about 28lbs, but we let him do it anyway. The poor guy controlling it, had to keep pulling his legs down to get him up in the air because he was so light.
Both girls flying in the air.
Once they both figured out how to flip, they just kept doing it. Thankfully, so far, it doesn't look like they've got their daddy's motion sickness gene.
Mack was NOT impressed with the frisbee dog show.
Ellie had a basketball banquet at the frozen yogurt shop in town. They were 3rd place in the league in their age group, so they got trophies.
Ellie and her sweet coaches, Coach Riley (left) and Coach Young (right.) These two worked so hard with those girls and taught them so much. They had more patience than I ever would have with seven 2nd and 3rd grade girls who had never really played basketball before.
The Westside Silver team one last time.
After the Glow Run. Ellie and Emma ran the 1 mile fun run. Ellie placed 2nd in her age group, and Emma finished. I ran with Emma and she did good. She got a cramp but refused to give up. She walked and ran finishing with a 12 minute mile, which was pretty good for a 5 year old I thought. Ellie's time was 9:48.
Bo and Banks were able to come to the Bunny Hop with us. This is our preschool's biggest fundraiser and a lot of hard work is put into it to make it successful. We were thrilled the Berryman's got to come with us this year!
This picture just cracked me up. Bo had his bunny sack on backward for the bunny hop race.😆
Bo and Mack making their way down the bouncy slide head first. Daredevils.
Bo, Mack, and Emma waiting patiently on the train. (Ellie, Banks, and Jay were already on the train.)
Cousins on a train
The egg hunt. Mack was more interested in what was in the eggs than actually putting the eggs in his basket. If it wasn't "good" candy, he just threw it back on the ground.
Emma got a golden egg. Mack picked up about 4 eggs total.
Bo knew exactly what to do.
The afternoon after the bunny hop, I met up with Worth and Coach at the VCC for their final round of the Member Guest golf tournament. They finished 1st in their flight and 7th overall.
The Promise is an Easter play that the church we attend has put on for the last 30 years. It is REALLY good, with some impressive acting, make up, scenery, music, and of course, message. Emma was the "dead girl" AKA Jarius' daughter this year, and Ellie was a child of Jerusalem.
Listening to Jesus
My two blond, blue eyed Jerusalem children.
Emma being the "dead girl." She blew me away with her acting ability.
The story of our house the past couple of weeks. Sick, exhausted children.
FIELD DAY!! This was Emma's first one. She is now in love with it as much as Ellie is. Granted, their elementary school puts on an epic field day. My pictures don't do it justice simply because I was running back and forth all morning trying to catch the girls performing my favorite field day activities. I used to love field day as well, and thankfully Westside Elementary still has those old school staple games (like tug of war) that are just so much fun to watch.
Baton passing relay
One station they were able to go into the gym to cool off by doing a little whip and nae nae.
Emma said this was her favorite game. The sponge relay. They had to pass and squeeze the sponge to the person behind them as fast as possible. Pretty good idea to keep them cooled off in the almost 90 degree weather.
Emma working hard with the hula hoop
Ellie and her friend in the sack hop
There were several bouncy obstacle courses/slides stations. They never had these at my field days in the 80s.
Tug of war is always fun to watch. I missed Ellie's class doing it, because they did it before I got there that morning. Emma's class won!
Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Mobley (Emma's teachers) jumped in to help,
Here are 2 videos from the month. The first is Ellie in her relay race at field day, the next is Emma at rehearsals being Jarius' daughter.
