This blog spot is primarily a photo/memory album for our family. It also serves as a way for us to share what is going on in our lives with our friends and family that don't see us on a regular basis. Ashley, Worth, Ellie, Emma, and Mack
We wrapped up all of the Christmas and New Year's celebrations in Valdosta and hopped a plane to Utah. We went to Deer Valley this year and it was great! The slopes were good, there was a TON of snow, and at Deer Valley there are no snowboarders, which is a huge bonus. I love our family time on this trip. We ski, have hot tub time in the afternoon, play games, and watch classic TV shows all as one family. It's priceless time that I'm so very thankful for.
The kids are becoming really good skiers. By the 3rd day we had figured out the runs a little better and had our routine down. There were so many more options in Deer Valley.
There were record amounts of snow in Utah this year. It was very literally a winter wonderland.
Proof that the kids can get along briefly for Go Fish
We found UGA fans in Utah!!
3 musketeers ready to make some tracks
We happened upon some "picture guys" at the top of the highest run. Worth and I talked the kids into posing it up to get this shot. All of the pictures he took were amazing but they were $50 each, so we just bought this one - I loved the mountains in the background. It was such a beautiful view!
These two got the hot tub ready for us every afternoon. Ellie was too good to participate in hot tub shenanigans this year.
Mack has proven that his helmet head far exceeds most of his morning bed heads.
Impressive. And it stayed like this through our entire lunch.
Ellie at least took our picture.
The princess herself
Mack AKA "Michelin Man"
Mack took a break out on the snow when Emma had a massive nose bleed in line for one of the lifts. Thankfully it wasn't a busy lift and we were able to scoot to the side and manage her 10 min bleed. We were also thankful for the tissue boxes ALL over the place in the lift lines.
The last part of December was spent having Christmas with the Tift side of the family and also the annual Chancey Christmas celebration. This year, Chancey Christmas was at our house here in Valdosta. It was themed "Cozy Christmas." We all wore PJs and everyone brought their favorite breakfast foods. It was so much fun. Most of the crowd stayed that evening to watch the Dawgs play Ohio State and celebrate New Year's Eve. We all had the best time!
After Christmas, Emma got a haircut for the New Year. I'm pretty sure she cut at least 4 inches off of Emma's hair. It had gotten soooo long.
So pretty!
The Thursday before NYE, we headed to Tifton to Grandma and Papa's house to have Christmas with them, Amos, Ann, Hardy, and Ford. The kids enjoyed goofing around with Grandma's elf.
For whatever reason, they love a picture ops like this.
Emma was proud of her photo bomb on this one.
Papa was enjoying the beautiful afternoon.
For some reason, this picture will not enlarge, but it is a precious picture of Grandma getting snuggles from Ford right when they arrived.
All of the kiddo's favorite time had come - opening gifts!! Hardy and Mack were covered up with them.
Ellie loves her some gifts too.
Ford was a much more involved participant this year than last year:)
Hardy got a big pack of flashlights!
Emma got a cotton candy maker!
When there are boys, there will be wrestling. Hardy was ready to take on Mack.
Ellie gets what she wants from Grandma....stuffed animals.
Friday morning, this crew headed to the golf course. Emma wanted a re-match with Uncle Amos for longest drive.
Saturday was New Year's Eve and time for Chancey Christmas. Ford was telling Papa all about it.
These 2 are too much! They always make a statement with their attire every year:)
There was more breakfast food that we could ever need.
After breakfast food for lunch, came steamed oyster appetizers, then Boston Butt sandwiches for dinner during the game. SO. MUCH. FOOD.
All the kid cousins were cute in their PJs
So were Grandma and Papa, but they weren't naughty like their shirts say.
The Buccee's family
The white elephant gift exchange is everyone's favorite part.
Ellie got some crayons and a coloring book.
Choosing to pick a gift or steal is always a challenge for the little ones.
In the meantime, Ford got himself stuck in a chair.
Amos got some legendary photos for framing. Uncle Courtney in a swimsuit and Mark dressed up as Wonder Woman. The gifts that keep on giving.
Anna just happened to pick the gift that was the Buccee's tumbler. She matched her gift.
Worth got a styrofoam cooler FULL of fresh oysters from Charleston. They were so good roasted later in the evening.
The adults got a picture in their PJs as well.
The kid's had a blast on the trampoline for most of the day.
And a good part of the night.
Oyster apps during the Michigan/TCU game
Fireball to kick off the start of the UGA/Ohio State game.
Lighting up sparklers at half time
All the kids but Ford made it to the end of the game/midnight.
Due to a shanked kick, we celebrated a UGA win at the stroke of midnight! Worth and Amos were so excited they took a jump into the pool.
