This blog spot is primarily a photo/memory album for our family. It also serves as a way for us to share what is going on in our lives with our friends and family that don't see us on a regular basis. Ashley, Worth, Ellie, Emma, and Mack
Due to computer issues I have gotten WAY behind on posts. We ended up just having to buy a new computer, and we are still in the process of figuring out how to download pictures, access the cloud, etc. I am just posting the highlights of the past month with some videos as well.
The beginning of July we spent with family on our annual St. Simons Island beach trip. It was HOT, HOT, HOT. With a humidity of 99%. We had a small issue with dehydration. Mack decided to get really sick one morning. He had woken up shaky and whiney, had a dry pull up, and still didn't go potty when I took him to the bathroom. He kept telling me he was thirsty, so I gave him the bottle of water and he completely finished it in about 3 gulps, then within 3-4 minutes, threw it up everywhere. He scared me so bad, if Worth hadn't been there, I would have been at an ER. We were able to get some gatorade in him, and he ate a really good breakfast. After another bottle of water (that he didn't throw up this time,) he seemed to be back on track. You have to really watch kids on the beach. You think just because you hand them a water, capri sun, gatorade, etc. that they are drinking it, and most kids do. However, Mack must have just been taking a small sip, then not drinking anymore, and I didn't pick up on it. Another mother of the year nod for me.
After we got back from SSI, the girls tried gymnastics camp in a new facility here in town. (not the YMCA which is where they take gymnastics weekly.) It is a very reputable facility with a previous olympian being an owner and coach. To spare you the long story, the olympian wasn't there for the camp- a teenager was coaching. Ellie wasn't impressed because she was not allowed to do any skills above level 1 in the camp, but Emma had a great time. Therefore, there were no pictures to document this experience because of the drama that ensued with my oldest child. She did, however, learn a valuable life lesson on sticking to something even if it isn't going your way, and making the best of a bad situation.
The week following gymnastics camp, Ellie had Camp Do Re Mi at our church, and Emma went to Disney princess ballet camp.
Do Re Mi is a music camp for kids in rising 2nd-5th grade in which the kids learn how to play various instruments and how to sing in harmony. Ellie had a great time. She learned to play a ukulele, song flute, hand chime, and of course she learned about 10 songs to sing. They put on a performance for their families the last night of it. All the kids sounded so good!
Emma had so much fun at ballet camp. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of Emma because I was working every day she was there and a babysitter had to go with her. She dressed in a different disney princess outfit everyday, they learned a little dance to the movie's music, and they met a different princess everyday! Emma was very impressed with her camp.
We finished out July with a tennis camp last week for the girls. They have had a fun filled summer and are ready to head back to school this Thursday! I can't believe Ellie will be a second grader and Emma is going to be in Kindergarten! There will be plenty of pictures coming!
The SSI pictures will be out of order. These are all just pictures from my phone. I took 344 pictures with my camera, loaded them onto this computer, can see them, but can't get them onto the blog for some reason. Ugh! I will do another post later with more beach pictures.

These water holes were all around us on the beach this year. The kids loved them as evidenced by Mack playing and Jake lounging

The girls had to help me get the cats to their vet appointments. This is Aspen, who was not very happy with us for caging him up to get him to the vet. I think he forgave us though, because he seemed to really like the cold exam table compared to the outside 100 degree weather.
