Our Blog

This blog spot is primarily a photo/memory album for our family. It also serves as a way for us to share what is going on in our lives with our friends and family that don't see us on a regular basis. Ashley, Worth, Ellie, Emma, and Mack

August is here!

It's so hard to believe that it is already August and the girls start school this upcoming week. I feel like I was just picking them up from their last day of 1st and 3rd grade, and now I have a 2nd and 4th grader.

This week, we have taken it easy. The kids have put on plays, played office, house, spy, Barbies, and army/hunter. They've eaten doughnuts, swam, jumped on the trampoline, played on a big playground,  done art projects, read books, watched Netflix, had a sleepover, had an open house at school, saw a rainbow, and had a few sibling fights along the way.

School for the girls starts this coming Tuesday, August 7th. Emma is ready to go back to school, but Ellie is extremely reluctant this year. Hopefully, once we are back in the school year swing she will be excited about seeing all of her friends everyday. Mack, on the other hand, is (not so patiently) waiting on his first day of Pre K which will be August 15th.

Pictures from our week:

Sunday was the close of Shark Week and therefore a play by the Bowers kids  of all they learned watching shark week. Emma was tapped as the shark that Ellie and Mack are looking at over the edge of the "boat"

Another big shark!!

Ellie and Emma are the divers discussing with the lead researcher (Mack) what they should do.

They all dove in to film the shark

By the way, Emma had a duel roll. Diver and shark, which proved to be difficult through some of the play.

She was in and out of costume so much, she had to check with Ellie to see which character she was supposed to be.

A victory dance to end the performance.

A bow by the talented actors.

Grandma bought Mack a gun. And yes, it was broken before he even owned it for 24 hours.

Wednesday, I took them out to run some errands and I treated them to Daylight Doughnuts. They all went with cream filled this go round.

They were so miserably full after the doughnuts that I took them to  a park nearby to run off all that sugar. It was not terribly hot because it was about to rain. There was a small breeze and it made for perfect park weather. We also beat the crowd there which was nice.

Emma the climber. She did the spiral thing she's climbing on over and over  to perfect her spiral pole climbing.

Never fear when Mack has his gear!

Open house at Westside! Emma is so excited about her 2nd grade class. Ellie wouldn't let me take a picture of her in her homeroom class. She also  almost wouldn't let me meet all of her teachers (she has 3 this year.) I had to beg her to please, at least let me say hello to her teachers so that I would know their faces.

2nd and 4th here the Bowers girls come!

Ellie's best friend, Taylor, came for a sleepover Friday night.  They were excited because Worth gave them coke/dr. pepper with their snacks.

I captured this Friday night as I ran to go pick up an online grocery order. It's hard to tell in the picture, but it was such a beautiful rainbow. I will never look at another one the same since Fort Morgan.

Yesterday afternoon was a small rain storm. No lightening this time meant the kids could get out there and play in it. You would have thought I had given them a million dollars.

Their favorite part was jumping on the trampoline in the rain.
