Our Blog

This blog spot is primarily a photo/memory album for our family. It also serves as a way for us to share what is going on in our lives with our friends and family that don't see us on a regular basis. Ashley, Worth, Ellie, Emma, and Mack

May 2025

It's taking me a while, but I'm gonna get through all these posts before Thanksgiving- it's a goal.

May is ALWAYS crazy. It's Emma's birthday month, tons of end of school activities, Memorial Day trips, etc. It flies by every year, but it has been so fun to go back and look at these pictures and remember this past May.

On another note, in May of this year, we decided to put an offer in on a new house at the Valdosta Country Club. Our offer was accepted, so in addition to all the other May activities, we added : let's prepare our current home on Tillman Bluff to be sold and pack all of our stuff to move into the new house. It was insane.

We still had a few soccer games left at the beginning of May.

Mack played his heart out,

and we were so proud of how hard he worked at this new to him sport.

However, they ended the season with 0 wins. It was fun for Mack, and it gave him some great exercise.  He was THE ONLY player to score a goal the entire season on his team.

Meanwhile Emma continued her golf game even after the school season ended.

Mack jumped in to play with her as well.

This sweet girl turned 14 on May 4th. She had her gifts waiting on her when she woke up for church that morning.

Rare moment of love between these two.

She was so happy she even picked him up for the hug

This girl loves Lululemon

We had to attend the late service that morning because Mack's K-Kids choir was performing. The lighting is terrible in Rock n' Roll church, but we got a picture with our girl anyway.

One sweet, smart 14 year old. We are so proud of the young lady she is becoming.

Mack was front and center singing with the K-Kids choir. They did a great job!

Mack even got to read scripture again in front of the whole church.

He's such a good speaker!

Emma requested Friends for her birthday lunch, so that's where we went as a family. Mack always makes pictures a challenge.
I was able to get a better sibling picture once we got back home.

Emma is 14!!!

Emma's birthday was on a Sunday this year. She wanted to continue with all of her normal Sunday activities. That included a Youth group night at the Axe throwing venue in Valdosta.

They then walked to the nearby Mexican restaurant for dinner. Emma's wonderful group leaders made sure to send me pictures.

The hydrangeas in our yard are always in full bloom in May. I always love picking a bouquet to put out for Emma each year.

My lone set up for a 14 year old birthday party

Emma had quite a large group of girls over for dinner, swim time, and golf cart rides around the neighborhood. These girls wore me out, but I think they all had a blast.

The obligatory cookie cake that every Bowers kid is insistent upon on their birthday

Getting Happy Birthday sung to her.

Blowing her candles out

Which appears to have been a slight struggle

I got to go have lunch with Mack at school one more time.

It was my last chance to eat lunch with one of my babies at the elementary school. Next year, I won't have that ability as they don't allow parents in for lunch at the middle school.

Worth's group was an elementary school sponsor this year. I took a picture of the sign for documentation.

We couldn't miss our last WES art show. Mack had golf practice and didn't want to go, but I insisted.

He was not thrilled with his own art work, but I loved all of it.

Mack's good friend, Jackson, (the kid in the middle) moved away. This was at his going away party. Mack hated to see him go. These military kids are missed so much by the friends they leave behind.

Emma's last Honor's Day as a middle schooler

Honor Roll all 3 years of middle school!

Proud of our 8th grader!

Emma and Sayla had to get a picture with Mr. Gyles, their favorite Science teacher. They had his class together this year.

Next up was Mack's 5th grade graduation!

Mack received the Principal's Excellence Award for 95 and above GPA, the PE award, and the Overall Music Award.

So proud of our 5th grader!

Mack and his best friend Blake are always hilarious when they are side by side.

Not sure who took this picture for me, but it was a better close up than from where I was sitting at graduation.

Last Day (1/2 Day) of school. Ellie didn't have to attend at the high school so she missed her last day of school front porch picture for the 10th grade.

Letting Mack out at WES for one last time. He had safety patrol, so he had to be there early.

Yes, I was soaking up every "last" at WES, even this last morning drop off.

At pick up we had to turn in our placards if we weren't returning to the school next year. We've been "783" since 2014.
Mrs. Lucky was collecting placards and cried when she got to my car. None of the teachers made this an easy day either.

Once school was out, we let the kids each take 1 friend to SSI with us for Memorial Day weekend. Elle and Nadia are so sweet and cute, but for some reason looked like 2 40 year old women in this picture reading and talking on the beach.

Meanwhile, Emma and her friend Kaelyn were catching some rays

Emma, Mack, Blake, and Kaelyn had a serious 4 square game going on.

Ready for dinner

Such cuties

Beautiful girls...

and 2 handsome boys ready for dinner on the Island.

Jackson came over for one more day with Mack before they left the next morning. Mack sure will miss him.

Brock Bowers, the fish, was still making it in May.

Mack and his buddies bowling for Leland's birthday. Leland is the one beside Mack. This was the last event for May 2025.
