This blog spot is primarily a photo/memory album for our family. It also serves as a way for us to share what is going on in our lives with our friends and family that don't see us on a regular basis. Ashley, Worth, Ellie, Emma, and Mack
We all survived Irma with minimal damage in our area. We were very lucky it was downgrading to a tropical storm when it hit our area. There were a lot of trees down in our neighborhood, and many people in our community are just now getting power back, but it could have been SO MUCH worse. We luckily lost power for only about 11 hours. School was out most of the week because of power and water outages, but Valdosta is finally getting back to its rhythm I think.
Anyway, we had a great night of girly fun. The girls put on make up, did nails, played pin the smile on the emoji, emoji bingo, ate pizza, ate poop emoji cookie cake, and watched the Captain Underpants movie. They were up by 6:15am and after eating breakfast, ready to go again tattooing each other before parents came for pick up. We did lose one little girl about 11:00pm. It was her first sleepover. No coaxing by me or her mom on the phone could get her to stay, so her mom came and got her.
Once all the girls were picked up, Ellie and I jumped in the car and headed to the soccer fields. It was Emma and Mack's first soccer games. I missed Emma's game since it was from 9:00-10:00 (sleepover pick up was at 10,) but Ellie and I made it to Mack's game. It was so funny to watch the little guys play. Worth said Emma did really good at her game as well. This league doesn't take score on the games, but Emma had kept up with the goals and reported to me that her team won 10-8. I couldn't keep up with Mack's team. I will say, I'm not really sure what I expected from him on the soccer field, but he did so good! He was so aggressive to be the smallest kid out there. He also did exactly what his coaches told him. I was glad to see he could follow directions there, since it doesn't happen very often at home.
Water shelves at Publix 5 days before hurricane Irma hit Valdosta
The kids had to sleep together in the living room because it is the safest spot from falling trees in our home.
Since we couldn't go outside to play, the kids built a mean track with the magic tracks, with Daddy's help of course.
We rode around in our neighborhood after the weather settled down. Trees, limbs, and debris were everywhere.
If you look closely in this picture in front of the white truck you can see that a tree landed on a car AND their house.
Close up
School was out most of the week, but the weather was beautiful after the storm. We spent most of the week outside playing and shooting rocket copters. If you have kids and have never done rocket copters, you need to get some! HOURS of entertainment.
Getting ready for the Emoji party!
Make up and nail time!
I didn't think Worth was going to be home, so I recruited my mom to help me set up for the party. She stayed for a bit after girls began to arrive and got a makeover from Emma.
Pizza, chips, and fruit were on the menu. Nobody ate any fruit.
Sweet girls from left: Ellie, Taylor, Sammy, Anna Beth, Allie (Emma was MIA at that point)
The poop emoji cake
We played several games. This one was pretty fun and an easy one to make because I randomly had tons of leftover black and yellow felt from another project I had done.
Happy Birthday to Ellie Bean!
I'm still in denial that she will be 9 on Tuesday.
Favorite gifts: emoji pillows
We played the game Pie Face, which Auntie Kate gave Ellie for her birthday. It was hysterical!
Allie was so scared of getting hit.
Emma never got hit on any of her turns until we were almost done playing.
Breakfast time!
Then an impromptu fashion show
All I have to say about this, is that Worth and I are in trouble.
The girls pulled out the tattoo pens just before going home.
Emma was a sweaty hot mess after her game, but they won!!
Water break for Emma!
Go green team! (They don't have a team name yet, not sure why?) This whole soccer thing is so new to me. It's not a sport I've ever played or really watched.
